Studies on digital divides and youth experiences. A future agenda to understand the socio-digital inequalities of young people

The article presents an overview of studies on digital gaps and youth. It begins with a review of empirical research on an international and Latin American scale concerning the problem of access to and incorporation of communication technologies, published as scientific articles in journals that are part of indexed databases. The main themes and categories characterizing the study results are identified and analyzed, and elements for a future agenda are proposed in order to advance in the understanding of social and digital inequities, starting from the empirical contrast of he vanguard concepts and the unbalanced experiences of schooled youth.
