Abstract

The objective of this paper is to know which are the discursive and coverage characteristics that the press in Guerrero gave to the presentation of Evelyn Salgado’s fist Government Report within the framework of the party alternation that is currently experienced in this territory. For this purpose, discourse analysis is used as a methodological theoretical proposal based on the review of the linguistic and semiotic resources used to recreate reality by the seven main newspapers: Diario 21, Diario de Guerrero, Diario de Iguala, El Guerrero, El Sur, Sol de Chilpancingo and Vértice. This analysis takes up all the materials published during the week in which the event took place, that is, from October 17 to 22, for which a total of 534 units of the different  journalistic genres were reviewed. This, in addition to evidencing the role currently played by the media, will also help to understand the relationships that are developing between them and the current governor of the Morena party.
