Abstract

The consciousness of the body as a creative element takes on a new meaning with the mediatized forms of expression that have emerged in the last two decades, the incorporation of augmented reality, the effects from 3D and 4D and the inclusion of technologies as a complement, which allow the artist to extend the experience, making Marshal McLuhan’s (1996) approach to the media as extensions of man a reality, the media as extensions of man, which also involves the public in a different way.

This document recovers historical elements on the processes, from the theories of dance, the body as an element in the creative process and the new ecology of the media; theoretical proposals that arise from the postulates of technological determinism that McLuhan proposed in the last half of the last century, taken up by the Toronto school and necessary to dimension the current art.

With a qualitative methodology close to discourse analysis applied to digital contexts, specifically to the performances available on platforms and websites, we analyze the relationship between art, dance, communication and technology to generate different audiences and new artistic experiences.
