Political violence against women based on gender in the newspapers of the state of Campeche

This work aims to identify the treatment given to women immersed in the electoral process in Campeche in the elections for governor, local deputies, members of municipal councils and municipal boards, specifically in the discourses of six printed state newspapers. The research has a mixed approach with descriptive scope and non-experimental design, with an integrated instrument of twenty-six items that offer a diagnosis of the printed newspapers observed. The results showed areas of opportunity that, undoubtedly, translate into challenges: greater prominence for female candidates in the articles and their identification on the front pages and images where they stand out in the activity they perform. Likewise, to give importance to the electoral process and to inform readers in a timely and objective manner, in addition to strengthening research in the journalistic area, especially in
politics and gender, which is the subject of the monitoring analysis.
