How does the media cover violence against women and girls in Mexico? How is the diffusion of violent events and the attention given to the problem seen? The comparison of two local and digital media in Chihuahua and the State of Mexico in the periods from July to December in 2015 and 2019, allows us to answer these questions. In total, 972 notes were collected to make a content analysis where significant differences were found between media and years regarding the main frames, Episodic and Thematic, but also considering the impact that the activation of the Gender Violence Alert against Women (AVGM) could have on the narrative.
