This paper addresses the relevance of the Constitutive Communication Theory of Organizations (cco) in the field of tourism and the management of protected areas. cco posits that communication not only reflects but also constitutes organizational reality. It highlights how this perspective transforms the understanding of tourism, where communicative practices shape experiences and meanings, and its application in the management of protected areas influences the relationship between society and the natural environment. In this sense, the aim is to provide a critical reflection on the performativity of the Constitutive Communication Theory of Organizations (cco) in the contexts of tourism and the management of protected areas, emphasizing the need for more effective organizational communication. It concludes by emphasizing the relevance of integrating cco research for contemporary challenges in organizational communication.
