The concept of participatory culture (Jenkins, 2008), over de past years, has been employed to explain the phenomenon of the interactions that have emerge from the relation of the audiences with new media and platforms and among audiences themselves. Participatory culture describes particular changes in the media scene such as traditional frontiers fading (Barba, 2017). Among these transformations, the contemporary relationship with the digital ecosystem has motivate a broadening on the circulation of information.
Correspondingly, we propose that participation can be understood as an example of political culture, in the way that we acquire how, and in what way we can participate. The connection between the concepts of participatory and political culture tries to explain the new and diverse possibilities of action and participation. We glanced at this type of political culture through a non-probabilistic probe in the Mexican city of Querétaro. The results open a window into describing the cultural basis of new ways of participating politically, just before the 2018 national elections.
